Biography

A group of five talented young musicians with their individual styles blended perfectly to impart their own rendition of alternative, new wave and top 40 sound in the new "Are You Serious?" album released by Universal Records.SHAMROCK is about to enter the mainstream to answer the call for those who are looking for something different. The album's carrier single, "Ms. Serious", has been receiving extensive radio airplay in leading radio stations.Another Shamrock original original, "Alipin", is fast becoming a most requested item on the airlanes.There are indeed several hit potentials in the "Are You Serious?" album - "Dalangin (Kanta To)", "Waiting For Summer", "Up There", "Today", "In My Head", and "Radio Girl".

A Rey Valera classic, "Naaalala Ka", has been given a new wave feel through a contemporary arrangement and sleek vocal interpretation by the band's singer, Marc Tupaz.All the songs in the album are composed by Sam Santos except for "In My Head" by Marc Tupaz, "Waiting For Summer" by S. Santos/D. Deri, "Radio Girl" by Paco Arespacochaga/Pancho Gonzales and Naaalala Ka" by Rey Valera.Lead vocalist Marc Tupaz grew up in Los Angeles. Blessed with both good looks and a heavenly voice, he was destined for a musical profession. He started lessons at Vocal Power in Los Angeles, California and continued voice lessons under the tutelage of Mrs. Vina Gonzales of the U.P. Conservatory of Music.His biggest influences are vintage rock n' roll songs, dating back to the Beatles.

With light alternative rock as the band's repertoire, Marc's voice is a fresh mix of the old and new combining standard vocal skills with the new sound of modern alterative rock; thus creating asound that is distinctively Sharmock.Bassist Sam Santos always dreamed of being a rock star; so he learned to play the bass at a very early age. The former Slapshock member has refined his guitar skills and has matured to be a dynamic performer. Everybody loves watching Sam onstage.Guitarist Nico Capistrano possesses a solid New Wave background. He has helped the band perfect their New Wave repertoire. Nico's contribution, however, extends to the alternative genre as well. His superb guitar solos accents Shamrock's music with that unique alternative flavor.Drummer Mike Magalong is a truly passionate performer. Every beat of his drums is no less heart-pounding, simply invigorating. A 110 percent rocker, Mike's energetic performances perk up the band's consistently vigorous sets.Keyboard artist Henry Abesamis was a former member of the band Skin, along with the then Introvoys frontman Paco Arespacochaga. He has the unique talent of accompanying almost all song performances, at random.

With his vast musical experiences, Henry has been known to his friends as the walking videoke machine.Collectively known as Shamrock - Marc, Sam, Nico, Mike and Henry has simply become a formidable musical force.
